It is a race against the grasshoppers to get the harvest in. This is one tactic.

Meet your CSA pest control
Posted by CHickenlooper at 4:48 AM Tuesday, June 29, 2010
Both Carol and Mona started this spring out with some new additions at the gardens; baby turkeys, guinea hens, and chickens. As many of you may already know the grasshoppers were very detrimental to the produce last year and were anticipated to be as bad, if not worse for this season- so in came the pest control! The grasshoppers still seem to have the upper hand, but these little guys (and girls) are doing a great job (and they are fun to have around)!!
